Director of Finance & Business Control, Sales Area North Europe   

Right now, you have an extraordinary opportunity to join a people company in the mining and construction industry, by stepping into a position where you significantly contribute to the success. The sales area is responsible for sales and service activities in 21 countries in Northern, Central and Eastern Europe. 

The business is spread between the mining and construction industries, and the customer base represents a wide variety of applications. Sandvik is now looking for an experienced finance leader to take a proactive, broader strategic view and develop our business to move forward. 

Your mission

In this position, you will be responsible for finance in Europe. In the role, you will lead and develop a financial global team of 30 persons and of these are 8 direct reports. You will drive performance management across the Sales Area operations and be proactive in operational and profitability improvement opportunities. You work closely with the Vice President, Sales Area North Europe and the management team, and support and advise the business in strategic financial matters to enable successful decision making.

In the role you will support the strategy and business development with your analytical skills and challenge us in identifying improvement areas and implementing appropriate action plans which align to business objectives, with a focus on containing costs and enhancing profitability. You will be responsible for monitoring, measuring and analyzing business activities and operating results from both a financial and operational perspective. 

As a leader you are working closely with the controllers and other members of the finance organization to enable true understanding and accuracy in figures, details and plans; and by doing so, you set the scene for a successful future. 

The location for this position is Svedala – a fast and easy commute from surrounding cities, such as Malmö, Lund and Copenhagen, and with the office located just across from the train station. The role is a member of the Management team for the Sales Area and reports to Vice President, Sales Area North Europe, also based in Svedala. 

Your character

Sandvik is looking for someone with a relevant University degree within finance, a solid financial background and strong business acumen. 

You have at least ten years’ experience from working in a progressive business or finance setting and five of them as a leader. You’re skilled in leading the way and managing stakeholders in large, international and multicultural organizations.

As a master in your field, you have both the confidence and the ability to challenge, influence and guide decision making at management level. Sandvik acts on the global scene, and your skills in English must be excellent. 

Being supported by a great set of communication skills, a convincing manner and the courage to initiate actions, makes it easy for you to get things done in a dynamic and fast paced environment.
