Director Global Transport Solutions

Within Arjo there is a great focus on bringing value to the organization and to its customers by having efficient Supply Chain flow and Transport solutions.

The role Global Transport plays an important role in the Supply Chain team, with the focus on optimizing the transport flow and setup. In the team there are Transport Analysts that support to create a faster, more flexible and efficient flow of goods and services. 

Key responsibilities:

·       To develop, plan and implement Transport strategy focused on optimizing costs, quality and delivery.

·       You will be responsible for freight and transport feasibility, transport budget, transport RFQ and contracting

·       Responsible for selection and performance management of carriers and transport partners, securing the service levels as well as cost efficiencies.

·       To direct, coordinate and control the overall inbound and outbound transportation and transfer deliveries of customer products, components and spare parts, directly to customers or to distribution centers across the world.

·       Contribute to sustainable transport solutions and cost reduction initiatives

·       Implementing a Just-in-Time delivery mindset

Primary challenges to prioritize are:

1.     Get better and full control of the current transport setup (spend/cost, contract carriers, internal behavior on purchase-call on freight etc)

2.     Analyze and set a new plan

3.     Make it happen, implement

There are about 8 persons in the team, local Transport Analysts placed at business-critical sites and a central Global Transport Analyst/Manager supporting in reaching the set goals. The role is part of the Global Logistics Management Team and reports to the VP Global Logistics.

This role offers a great opportunity to support, form and develop our future Supply Chain footprint and by that play an important role in reaching Arjo´s overall business objectives.

Ideal candidate

To succeed in the role, we believe you have a University degree within Supply Chain, Transportation, Engineering, economics or other relevant education. You have long experience and genuine interest in the supply chain and Transportation field, working with improving business.

You are an experienced leader with excellent communication skills and the ability to form relationships with people from different cultures and backgrounds. You are astrong analytical mindset, sense of urgency and able to prioritize.
