Head of Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) & Property Loss Prevention (PLP)

We are now looking for a person who wants to continue to lead and drive the development of our important work. You will have a very central role where you have a great opportunity to make a big and positive difference both for our organization and employees.

You will be based in our dairy in Malmö but frequent travels to our sites in Kristianstad and Hjo is necessary. You are part of a large international team within our Group Lactalis and represent Sweden in the EHS-related team.

The position

As Head of EHS & PLP, you have overall responsibility for the EHS and PLP area within Skånemejerier. You have the responsibility for a competent team of 3 people and together you create the right conditions for change and improvement work.

You work closely with the Industrial Director and other key stakeholders within the organization. The tasks will be varied and will be at both a strategic and operational level.

You will be part of the Industrial management group and reports to the Industrial Director.

Primary responsibilities

• Be responsible and lead all work within EHS and PLP and set the strategic plan for Skånemejerier.
• Be a member of the Lactalis Health and Safety Group and support in various projects.
• Provide expertise, advice and guidance within the area to the organization of Skånemejerier.
• Be the leader of 3 knowledgeable team members.
• Responsible for reporting relevant KPIs to management group and to the Lactalis group.
• Implement an ”EHS Culture” in the entire organization.
• Continuously work with improvements in processes and projects
• Carry out internal audits according to legislation and the Groups Health, Safety and property loss prevention policy, to measure awareness, involvement, results and improvements and raise alarm if necessary. Ensure recommendations are implemented and monitored.
• Lead specialists and/or project teams to implement, manage and/or ensure compliance with environmental, health, safety regulations and programs.
• Ensure that risk assessments are carried out throughout the operation and proactively identify potential risks through, among other things, Gemba tours, inspections, audits, etc.
• Be the primary contact person for authorities during inspections, licensing and reporting.
• And many other responsibilities associated with the role.

Your profile

We believe that you have a University degree in engineering or equivalent. If you have additional education in environmental or safety technology, it is seen as meritorious.

You have several years of experience from the manufacturing industry, where you have worked both strategically and operationally with EHS issues. You are a well experienced leader, from a direct or indirect leading position, who achieves success through a natural commitment and engagement. Communication is key in this role, to create and maintain strong working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders relevant for the role.

You think strategically but at the same time have a ”doer” attitude.

As we are part of an international Group it is important that you are fluent in not only Swedish but also in English.
