Operations Development Manager

Role summary

We are now looking for someone to take on the role as Operations Development Manager for the European region of the Industrial Segment. The European scope is around EUR 900 million with 3,200 employees. The business model in Europe covers supply chain, sales, installation, and service.

Business Segment Industrial (BSI) delivers solutions in the following main product areas: Industrial Doors, Dock Levelers, High Performance Doors and Megadoors. In addition, BSI also delivers service and refurbishment and digital solutions relating to the previously mentioned products. 

The role offers you a dynamic role in a challenging, international business landscape where you will be able to operate on several different levels in the organization.

The responsibilities for the role will be to manage and lead the team of 5 project managers and specialists, drive supply chain and operations development projects in Europe with its 12 production sites. The focus is to improve efficiency and productivity in processes related to operations and supply chain. Projects can vary between areas such as production, material management, quality, logistics, sustainability etc.

In close collaboration with a diverse set of teams, senior colleagues and local leadership, you will work with projects that enables greater efficiency and cost effectiveness and drive the implementation of our lean program throughout the entire Supply Chain.

You will find your main stakeholders spread across the organization. Some travel will be needed in this role, within the European region.

As Operations Development Manager, you will be part of setting and implementing the strategic direction.

Main responsibilities:

  • Implement and develop our Operational excellence program to secure sustainable improvements in Safety, Quality, Delivery & Cost.
  • Actively manage and drive projects and programs by yourself and with your team.
  • Develop Project management skills and culture in the Supply chain organization.
  • Drive processes development in operations and supporting all functions of the business to work together.
  • Stay on top of industry development and secure implementation of new and improved technologies in our manufacturing operations.
  • Develop reporting, monitoring and actions based on deviations.
  • Coaching and development of the team in Operations development.

You will be based at our head office in Landskrona (or satellite office in Malmö), Sweden, and report to Head of Supply chain in the Industrial segment Europe.

Profile

To succeed in the role, we believe you have a university degree within engineering, logistics or other relevant education. We think you have +10 years work experience within Operations area, preferable from an international manufacturing company. Any project management experience will also be of value.

We expect you to possess a strategic and continuous improvement mindset with proven track record of implementing Operational excellence program and a solid cross-functional experience in manufacturing operations and supply chain. 

  • Proven experience from a similar role as Operations Manager, Operations development Manager or as a senior management consultant within the area
  • Several years of experience in global manufacturing operations in make to order production.
  • Proven track record in successful lean implementation with excellent working knowledge of a variety of lean tools
  • A continuous improvement and strategic mindset
  • Energetic and self-driven with the ability to drive results.
  • Strong change management skills and a holistic approach to assigned tasks.
  • You thrive with both hands-on and strategic tasks
  • Good communicator, both written and verbal, and the ability to work within a fast-changing and growing company and complex matrix organization.
