Corporate Sustainability Manager

The Corporate Sustainability Manager role is a strategic position making sure practices, processes, products and procedures are fulfilling expectations in terms of social, environmental, and economical requirements in line with a sustainability strategy. Sustainability topics include animal welfare, climate impact, food waste and packaging among other things.

The Corporate Sustainability Manager is responsible for defining framework and focus for Skånemejerier to remain relevant and leverage its full potential to support Agenda 2030 and the Sustainable Development Goals. An important step in 2022 is to have climate goals validated by Science Based Targets. The role includes capturing the essence of challenges to be tackled by turning them into operational commitments. You will anchor KPIs throughout the value chain and together with Sustainability Leaders form action plans to drive and accelerate the improvement work. You will participate in the group’s global CSR network to drive improvements, inspire and learn from colleagues around the world. As part of the role you will support strategic sustainability communications. 

You will be based at our headquarters in Malmö, but since we have four production sites and farmers in southern Sweden the role will require some travel. The job is fulltime, and you will report to the Director Communications & Sustainability. You will have budget responsibility.

Main tasks

  • Identify relevancy in line with legislation, standards and initiatives on the market and ensure that the company develops in line with legislative requirements connected to the sustainability field. 
  • Integrate Agenda 2030 and United Nation’s sustainability goals in the entire value chain. 
  • Sustainability reporting in line with ÅRLs requirements and GRI. 
  • Develop and manage yearly budget and CSR plan. 
  • Define and anchor sustainability targets and strategies in the management team.
  • Coordinate internal sustainability data, projects and information and manage measurements downstream and upstream.
  • Gather external information and research to further improve our management of sustainability risks and opportunities. 
  • Work in close collaboration with Sustainability Leaders across the value chain, as well as other internal and external stakeholders, to develop CSR objectives and content.
  • Compile complex information into presentations and training material to further improve and facilitate implementation of our sustainability strategy.
  • Participate in supplier meetings.
  • Support communication of core sustainability areas to employees, consumers, customers and other stakeholders and act as spokesperson in sustainability related matters.

Who are you?

We believe you have a minimum 5 years of relevant experience within the field, preferably from a producing industry and/or food business. Experience of and successful management of sustainability reporting is required. ISO 14001 auditing experience is preferred as well. 

We are looking for an extrovert, proactive person with excellent project management, communication- and leadership skills, who is self-motivated with a high energy level. You are able to build strong relations. You have the capacity to adapt quickly to change and you are “hands-on” with a strong ability to work and take responsibility in cross-functional teams and a matrix organization.

You can work independently based on given goals and assignments, but also have good collaboration skills with colleagues as well as internal and external counterparts. You are able to work analytically and in a structured way
