CellaVision specializes in developing and manufacturing advanced digital microscopy and artificial intelligence (AI)-based solutions for hematology laboratories. Their systems automate the process of analyzing blood and other body fluids, helping to identify and classify cells, such as white blood cells, red blood cells, and platelets. This technology improves the speed, accuracy, and efficiency of diagnostic processes, particularly in the detection of various blood disorders, including leukemia and anemia. CellaVision’s innovations are widely used in hospitals and clinical laboratories in +40 countries around the world. Headquarters is in Lund, turnover 2023 was 677 msek with approximately 250 employees.

Business Development Director

CellaVision is looking for a Business Development Director to work with their new focus area pathology and cytology. The role will be instrumental in establishing partnerships with key business partners to drive business development in new commercial channels. The Business Development Director will represent the company and network with key opinion leaders to enhance visibility and promote new business opportunities. Furthermore, the aim of the position is to strengthen and expand relationships with key business partners to drive business growth within pathology and cytology.

The Business Development Director will report to VP Global Marketing and Business Development, Peter Wilson. The role is based in Lund and international travel will be required.

Responsibility

•      Develop strong relationships with business partners and achieve partnership agreements to facilitate future collaborative business development and growth

•      Lead negotiations for partnership agreements, contracts, and joint ventures to maximize value for CellaVision

•      Represent the company and network with key opinion leaders to enhance visibility and promote business opportunities.

•      Work closely with product development, researchers, marketing and legal to ensure alignment and collaboration across teams for execution of business strategies

•      The role will be both strategic and hands on.

 

Profile

•      Master’s degree in Business Administration or Biomedical Science or similar

•      At least 5 years of experience of proven successful business development in the medtech industry. Experience from the pathology or cytology market is highly desirable

•      Expertise in negotiating complex contracts and partnership agreements that benefit both the organization and its partners.

•      Strong ability to assess market opportunities, define business strategies, and develop action plans to achieve long-term goals.

•      Proven ability to build and nurture long-term relationships with clients, partners, and key industry players.

•      Leadership skills, structured, problem solver, self-motivated, self-assured

•      Humble, detail-oriented, and organized, with high personal integrity and some humour;-)

•      Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, capable of influencing and presenting to senior leadership and external partners
